There's something wonderfully out of place about printing a magazine in 2026. Even more so when it comes from people who spend their days fermenting vegetables, roots and spices.That's exactly why we decided to make one.
A designer. A poet. A sculptor. A mountaineer. A photographer. A juice maker. A chef. An astrophysicist.
It sounds like the beginning of a joke. It isn't. It's a collaboration of sixteen hands, and a few more besides.
These pages hold their words. Everything else, thankfully, remains unprintable.
FERALZINE is Feral's very first themed magazine: an independent publication whose debut issue is dedicated to the idea of beingout of place—and to everyone who has ever felt that way.To everything that seems to belong nowhere in particular, yet somehow finds a way to exist.Inside you'll find stories, obsessions, reflections, photographs, conversations, places, people and ideas that resist easy categories.
This is the first edition.
It's also an experiment. Which means FERALZINE won't be reprinted forever or distributed everywhere. It's a limited publication for the pathologically curious, lifelong readers, collectors of beautiful oddities—and especially for anyone who still enjoys turning real paper pages beneath a beach umbrella in the middle of summer. (One day, hopefully, it'll be a Feral beach umbrella.)
One last thing.Imagine that seven years from now we somehow win a major literary prize. If you're holding this first edition, you'll get to be that wonderfully smug friend who says, "Oh yeah, I was reading them back when the very first issue came out."Kind of like the people who say,"I was listening to that artist long before they won Sanremo."
